Join Debbie Raucher. Project Director of John Burton Advocates for Youth (JBAY), for this spotlight session on supporting former foster and/or unhoused students.
Students with experience in the foster care system and those who have endured homelessness often have unique needs and as a result the state has developed a number of programs and resources targeting these populations. While these efforts are valuable, equally valuable is ensuring that staff and faculty are educated on how to work effectively with these populations and refer them to the available supports. This webinar will provide tips for bringing a trauma-informed lens to interactions with students coming from these experiences, how to provide effective support regardless of your role on the campus and an update on all the newest policies in place to help these students be successful.
