Can you tell us which buildings and classrooms will be open?

@Victoria - hang tight with your supervisor. At this time, financial aid, admissions, counseling, etc. would not be considered essential in-person for the first wave the President just referenced. She is speaking about just 14 instructional sections and those who must be on campus to open those buildings and keep them safe.

@Martha, I'm not sure if you have a specific example but the shared responsibility would mean that anyone who would be on campus for essential activities would have a responsibility for maintaining cleanliness, hand washing, masks, etc. Your supervisor is developing the department-level and office-level protocols. You'll hear an example of what that looks like in a lab setting from Kenward Vaughan in just a few minutes

How do we go about getting a thermoscanner for the lab? And has M&O be able to obtain any disinfectant wipes that we will have access to?

And my understanding there will be signage with the symptoms posted. When and where will those be posted? May we have some outside MS 58? MS 54? MS 156?

@Carla Gard: Signage has been posted in key areas since the pandemic was first on BC's radar back in January. We have English and Spanish signs that I'm sure we could have printed from Print Shop should you all need them.

One of my concerns is that my department has serious challenges if we are talking about wearing masks. Playing instruments and singing with a mask......

@jennifer Garrett, maybe face shields instead? Might be a good brainstorming session at a dept meeting?

I purchased several SUPER CUTE masks on Etsy as well! They are comfy and fun--which will make wearing them less miserable! : )

@Ximena, I think it's a supply issue... masks are more accessible so i'd recommend those as preferred unless absolutely essential to use a face mask instead

We are brainstorming tomorrow night at our meeting! We would need over 200 face shields in the Fall.

Face shields should be reserved for those labs or courses where students have to work closely to one another

@ Connie we will work on protocols for having shields in areas as needed for the Fall. There are no plans to bring services back this summer

Will there be more MO staff available to refill the dispensers daily or almost daily?

@Nick, these protocols are designed for a massively reduced traffic flow on campus so that M&O is able to handle the workload of refilling while ensuring safety.
