The discipline leads that work in Dec/Jan - do we continue in place??
I will reach out to Micehlle
Does Art/Art History include Studio Art?
Can you show those lists of disciplines again?
I believe Art does.
Good question, Michelle
I'm so excited to see PoliSci! Yay! :-)
A number of the English course links have nothing there.
That may mean it is in still in the works or they were not able to find anything. If you are aware of OER being used that isn't there, please let us know.
Is there a list of the discipline leads with their contact info that we can share with faculty at our campuses? I know we can look them up in the Canvas shell - just wasn't sure if there was a list somewhere too.. ?
That would be useful for me too
Are adjunct faculty eligible to become discipline leads?
There used to be a place for OER organized by TMC; is that one of the pages that's down right now?
What info can we send to instructors who may be insterested in becoming a discipline lead?
@Ben: Discussions continuing. Music has been a challenging one…
Perfect, thanks @Paris
The Intermediate Spanish one is called Entrada Libre, and it's on LIbreTexts
Here's the link to what Sarah was talking about (I think!) https://human.libretexts.org/Bookshelves/Languages/Spanish/Intermediate_Advanced_Spanish_Manual_(Entrada_Libre)
can you put the race link in the chat please?
Sheila: The same group is finishing up something similar for the first-year Spanish text. The book is Libro Libre (already in LibreTexts), and they are creating a similar homework ancillary for that. It should be done soon.
@Cerise: Thanks for the link to the Spanish OER.
Sure thing, @Sheila! Nice to see you again!
@Nicole I think this is what you're asking about? https://socialsci.libretexts.org/Courses/Long_Beach_City_College/Race_and_Ethnic_Relations_in_the_U.S.%3A_An_Intersectional_Approach
@Nicole, is this the link you were wondering about? https://lor.instructure.com/resources/883f9616cc614634a0230eb094d7922b
@ Sarah: Thanks for the addl Spanish OER info
Will you make ths slide deck available for us (or at least the slides with the lists of finished OERI funded projects)?
Thanks, this is great for the new ethnic studies requirement!
@Sheila - RFP I is at https://asccc-oeri.org/asccc-rfp-1-resource-preview/ & RFP II is at https://asccc-oeri.org/asccc-oeri-rfp-2020/
Different districts within the same county is okay?
That yes was a reply to Lara. It may be stronger if it's more geographically diverse.

Another CCC event to avoid for the Cal-Open event: ASCCC Faculty Leadership Institute (I plan to attend FLI).
Our data office is working on comparing data for us and we will share when this is available. It has been difficult with COVID to compare in terms of success and retention rates.
One example is how to identify OER in the Course Outline of Record. I’ve written boiler—plate language that we’re using in Curricunet.
Ha ha, we found that out during the last OER workshop I had at my school
We have them run reports each semester on how many sections are ZTC. They can also exclude courses that traditionally didn't have textbooks like kinesiology.
We had instructors doing that as well
@Sheila, I'd love it if you could share that language!
Can you share that we me, Sheila? My e-mail address is email@example.com
@ Cerise: Can you paste your email?
firstname.lastname@example.org. Thank you!
Is there OERL tracking sheet available on the Canvas site? It looks like it’s still Fall 2002 (sorry if I missed something)
Sorry Fall 2020
I will note that Canvas needs to be updated.
A course that I found on Canvas Commons had a link to a PDF of a commercial textbook. I looked, and the PDF still had the All Rights Reserved licensing. Yikes!
@michelle, I found those as well when I was helping faculty look for things on Canvas Commons. It is both funny and litigiously scary :P
Can I get added to the tracking sheet, or do I add myself?
Thank you for this helpful session--- I have to bounce off to another meeting.
@Michelle and @ Jin: Same!!! It was in my discipline, too
Sorry Dave :)
Could CCC OER webinars count as a OER-L webinar?
@Maritez: I’ll follow up with you. We need Senate President confirmation.
@Sheila, oh wow! I am sometimes tempted to contact the faculty but how awkward would that be?
@Dave - Thanks. Our ASP already emailed confirmation last fall.
Thanks so much for this! I too have to jump into a 2:00 meeting. I really appreciate all this info!
@Jin: So true. We don’t have a graceful and non-threatening way to do this.
LOL. Okay, I put it in the spreadsheet, but will add another webinar once I've done more this semester.
Thank you. I have a ZOOM with Michelle P. In moments,
Yes! San Mateo CCD is planning something--collaboration across district makes this a lot easier!
Wonderful, thank you!
Thank you! 😊😊😊
Thanks for attending!
Apologies, I have to run to another meeting, thank you so much for a wonderful session!
Happy long weekend!
Thank you so much! Have to go to my Academic Senate meeting :)
Thank you, Jennifer and Dave
Thank you Dave and Jennifer!
