Data is so telling— especially with so many of our institutions having HSI designation.

30:53
part-time enrollment slows down time to degree and may be a factor in these lower percentages for Latinx students? At IVC only 44% of students attend FT. 60% work & attend school and 36% work 20+ hours/week

31:55
@John- similarly for BCC for PT student enrollment.

31:59
I have a Board Institutional Effectiveness Committee scheduled at 4pm. I will need to exit in a few minutes. Buena suerte everybody!

33:12
Good points, John. Shortening time-to-degree is essential to improving student outcomes. The longer one stays at the institution the lower the probability of completion. We need to find better ways to incentivize and fund full-time enrollment.

36:48
The CA LAO is forecasting a $31B budget surplus for the current fiscal year. K-14 is to receive 40% of the budget for education. CALCCTA must advocate for the funding to assist CCCs and our students of color get the financial aid they need to succeed sooner than 6 yrs.

37:39
will the presentation PP slides be posted with all other CCLC session slides after the convention closes?

39:33
Yes, John, that is my understanding. I'll send to the CEO list, too.

45:28
Good evening Everyone! I realize that you have matters that you need to address at this meeting. I am a trustee at IVCCD for 5 years and Board President for the last two years. Our student population is 92% Hispanic/LatinX. At some point, I would be pleased to share with you what I have learned about problems with success and retention rates in our community. I believe that you have addressed some of the issues but that you are missing others, particularly in the CCD with the highest Hispanic/LatinX student population in our State.
