The focus is actually not CTE. While CTE is an option, we are looking to transform the way we do teaching and learning across disciplines, including GE requirements.
Good question Teresa. CPL awards credit for previous college-level learning gained outside of a college classroom. CBE focuses on enabling students to earn credentials by demonstrating mastery. A good brief recently published by California Competes is posted in the VRC CBE Forum.
We had a webinar with South Texas College, they have already implement CBE
Great question on teaching and learning support for CBE. The Collaborative Program Syllabus includes a module that invites colleges to participate in a CBE Community of Practice (CoP).
The new federal regulations for CBE does allow for some credit-hour courses effective July 2021. Institutions are trying to figure this out. Thanks for the great presentation! Laurie Dodge
