@Rick Weeks, can you add a description to the Course listings to help differentiate the varieties/versions rather than "just " a number?

@David Hovey, will we be upgrading the Cisco switches to the 9200s? and maybe my question to Rick is for you.

NDG has recommendations for texts for some of their lab sets (MSEC, Ethical Hacking, and previous versions of Digital Forensics) - is there any recommendation for accompanying curriculum for this Digital Forensicsv2 pod?
Jason Zeller

There currently isn'

Thrilled to start using it this Spring, thank you! Looks awesome.
Jason Zeller
57:20
However, I will be reviewing the new Digital Forensics Essentials ebook which is now available from EC-Council for free and will be using it this upcoming spring.
Richard Grotegut
57:38
Not at Ohlone any more. Cabrillo is the new home.
Mark Krzyszkowski
58:09
Cool. The “Cengage” book is heavy in non-technical areas, so I’ve always supplemented with a custom pod in addition to the DFv1 pod
Jason Zeller
58:22
The great benefit of that is their DF Essentials certification is only $30 and so would be a great add on certification, without having the overhead cost of their larger certification.
Mark Krzyszkowski
58:49
I really like that idea (wondering if I can change my textbook request for Spring ’22. . . . .)

I use this text for Forensics: https://www.amazon.com/Digital-Forensics-Incident-Response-techniques/dp/183864900X/ref=asc_df_183864900X/?tag=hyprod-20&linkCode=df0&hvadid=416741343328&hvpos=&hvnetw=g&hvrand=15553741225298463449&hvpone=&hvptwo=&hvqmt=&hvdev=c&hvdvcmdl=&hvlocint=&hvlocphy=9032092&hvtargid=pla-869957462302&psc=1&tag=&ref=&adgrpid=93867144477&hvpone=&hvptwo=&hvadid=416741343328&hvpos=&hvnetw=g&hvrand=15553741225298463449&hvqmt=&hvdev=c&hvdvcmdl=&hvlocint=&hvlocphy=9032092&hvtargid=pla-869957462302

I have used the Cengage before, the semester before NDG EHv2 was released. Student feedback was the material was ok but they were not happy with the lab platform so I was able to swap that out and just use the lab materials last spring. I am hopeful this Essentials series will help fill that void.

Mine want more tech, less “law enforcement” piece. . . .so I like the EC-Council recommendation.

Rich Weeks
01:15:21
So cool! Same question as Jason. What version VNC or MKS?
Mark Krzyszkowski
01:15:59
I may have missed it - think I’d be able to set up my NVIDIAs on a VM in a pod for use with hashcat?
David Hovey
01:17:28
This is still using the VNC
Jason Zeller
01:18:04
So older version of ESXi?
