Thanks for the definitive info about Studio, Erin

22:55
Is the online lab comment about GE in general or discipline-specific transfer as well?

24:26
is there a specific code for hyflex, like for online asynchronous?

24:34
(Though re Studio, it’s couched in “not in the budget at present” - that’s not a definitive statement that it won’t be part of future budget versions, or that some of the allocations in the current budget for online infrastructure couldn’t be directed toward Studio.)

24:47
Is there a sense of whether Hyflex assumes an asynchronous option?

25:08
@Suzanne and Marina. Thank you! We will ask Erin at the conclusion of her slides.

25:22
Yes, @Moses, it does

26:21
At my college what we call HyFlex does not include asynchronous, and I believe that’s true at a number of other colleges, though the “true HyFlex” definition does include async.

26:30
Thanks Kandace

27:12
Sounds like Canvas Studio would be a good purchase statewide for (b)(4) Efforts to improve the quality of online and DE in the proposed budget…..

27:16
At SDCCE, our HyFlex classes offer both synchronous and asynchronous instruction.

27:44
I suspect and hope that any work done at the state level to better define “HyFlex” will be about various ways that modalities might be simultaneously employed in any given class and not one strict definition. Probably better to come up with a more generic name like “flexible modality” or something.

28:30
Was the chancellor’s office memo released with guidance re new Title 5 DE language?

28:39
Students at El Camino this term are experiencing confusion because they think Hybrid actually means Hyflex (which we don’t offer yet)

28:43
Can you explain more about how the teacher credentialing would work as a new initiative at a college?

30:56
Title 5 language

31:33
When will they be caudified?

31:56
*codified (sigh, sorry for spelling)

33:53
@Moses, I imagine that similarity in the sound of the terms will confuse a lot of students!

A “meanie”: ha!

38:30
Congrats, Marina!

39:35
“Pain” is putting it politely. I’m so glad an online option for our HS enrollment is in the works.

40:23
We just completed Phase 1--hurrah!

40:46
Congratulations, Maria Elena!

GOOD NEWS.

45:13
Yes!!

45:26
THANK YOU!

45:41
Is there CVC ZTC “library” or collaborative document of OER textbooks being used at all CCC/ CVC ZTC classes? This might help onboard others who are searching for quality OER textbooks and assist them in converting their classes to ZTC.

46:16
The ASCCC OERI are trying to put that together. WE have some

46:27
Let me find the links

Awesome. Thank you

@Bridget: The OERI also has some known high quality OER being used by many CCCs for common courses that do not have a C-ID (CTE, College Success courses, etc.). Work in progress for how to best keep track and make public.

54:27
This work is so very impressive!

54:39
Agreed!

Very informative presentation, Ingrid. Thanks.

01:02:12
Terrific Ingrid! Thanks!

01:02:34
The connection to digital literacy is well-received, Ingrid. I’d love to know more about your experiences and efforts in this area.

01:02:44
Thank you, Ingrid! I’m impressed and so inspired by your amazing work!!

01:09:45
@Kandace, At SDCCE, we currently have a pilot for digital equity literacy tutoring for Small Business/Entrepreneurship students. We would like to scale to serve students in more programs. Let's keep the conversation going! My email: igreenbe@sdccd.edu

01:10:16
Thanks, @Ingrid! I’ll be in touch!

01:12:01
These are really interesting comments on standardizing course design. Has anyone tried to discuss this with faculty? It often makes teachers very anxious because they feel that they will be told how to teach. Thoughts?

01:14:16
@Brett, that’s a common response in my experience. When it’s presented as clarifying the format for effective student use, it’s more palatable we’ve found at our college.

01:14:20
@Brett Our non-credit area has developed a specific training for preparing their instructors to teach online. I think it may make more sense in non-credit than across the college as a whole … but also having some well designed templates/starter shells might help improve things generally without being overly standardized.

01:15:07
Janet, thank you! We do need to wrap up ...

01:15:31
@Jim and @Kandace, I agree. I want to present in a way that shows faculty how it can help them rather than limit their choices.

01:15:31
@Maritez, Appreciate your acknowledgements!

01:15:55
Thank you Janet, this was very helpful.

01:15:55
