CCC DECO
34:08
Thanks, Bob!
Kathy Schultz
35:03
If we had already signed the Master Consortium agreement, we did not have to sign again, correct?
Andrea Hanstein | CVC
35:13
@Kathy, correct
Andrea Hanstein | CVC
35:30
If you need a copy, please email support@cvc.edu.
Davena BurnsPeters
35:35
It also triggered challenges for those campuses who did not have time for collegial processes to join. My sister college being one.
Andrea Hanstein | CVC
36:19
If you want to check where your college is, check
Andrea Hanstein | CVC
36:20
https://cvc.edu/exchange-implementation-board/
Janet Lambert’s iPhone
37:44
Do students have access to the library at other colleges?
Andrea Hanstein | CVC
38:24
@Janet, yes. When a student cross enrolls, they receive an ID at the Teaching College so they can acccess library resources.
Maria Elena Fernandez
39:42
We are a home college. Would our students be directed to CCC Apply or would they be able to enroll instantly?
Audrey Blumeneau
39:48
Is there a FAQ about things like this?
Kandace Knudson
39:57
Unless you go to the CVC dashboard, it's impossible to tell the difference between a local student and one from the exchange: they become "local” to us from the teaching college perspective.
Dr. Janith Norman
40:03
Can you give a brief overview of what the conditions entail.
Andrea Hanstein | CVC
40:28
@Maria, your students can cross enroll in Teaching Colleges.
Dr. Janith Norman
40:33
Yes, Joanna. I'm not sure how that affects funding
Andrea Hanstein | CVC
40:36
Because you are a Home College.
Andrea Hanstein | CVC
40:49
@Audrey, yes, let me post some links.
Bob Nash
41:19
The CVC Exchange: Documentation and Support Materials - https://cvc.edu/exchange/
Andrea Hanstein | CVC
41:38
This FAQ is fairly comprehensive: https://docs.google.com/document/d/1k-C41SNBHfc9vOHnpvjTOFLuiOig8Psq_SlTlOI0qJ8/view.
Dr. Janith Norman
41:56
Does this effect funds available for a teaching college. I'm a bit confused. I'll stand by. :)
Audrey Blumeneau
41:56
@Andrea, thank you!
Andrea Hanstein | CVC
42:18
We are happy to meet with colleges and walk you through your status. We can even create a detailed progress report. Please just email support@cvc.edu and we will get you scheduled.
Kathy Schultz
42:28
How do we commit to implement?
Andrea Hanstein | CVC
42:31
We will do whatever we can to make sure you meet the deadlines.
Maria Elena Fernandez
43:18
so we have to join a teaching college cohort by Jan 2023?
Dave Dillon (he him his)
43:26
If student cross-enrolling has an issue at the college they are on visiting status with, would they then seek/be eligible for counseling access at the visiting college?
Joanna Miller
43:35
@Janith. Much of this is being done at your district level in collaboration with VPIs at campuses, who would then be asking DE Coordinators for information, if needed.
Andrea Hanstein | CVC
43:46
@Maria. Correct, not actually started implementing, but joined a cohort.
David Reed
43:49
Any feedback on impact of whether the district is ftes or basic aid funded? Some people were confused by the memo language
Gregory Beyrer
44:37
How is the local Academic Senate involved in these conversations?
Maria Elena Fernandez
44:37
okay, I need to pass this on to my team--so thanks!
Davena BurnsPeters
44:46
We discovered it became a significant budget decision by the district. It seems the option of this particular budget selection was an opportunity to support and encourage participation in the CVC Consortium. The issue was a memo being sent in June and requiring action by September and not having AS and collegial processes available during summer months. Not a CVC issue. It should be clear the budget choice is not about CVC, DE is just part of the larger budget option.
Andrea Hanstein | CVC
45:00
There are some pre-steps you need to take before you can join a cohort. Again, please email support@cvc.edu and we can get you sorted out.
Dr. Janith Norman
45:00
LMC is a teaching college already. That's why I'm asking about funding. I think others may have similar questions.
Jennifer Azzaro
45:40
Is an Academic Senate resolution still required along with the Master Consortium Agreement?
Andrea Hanstein | CVC
45:41
Janith, your district has met the conditions of the memo.
Andrea Hanstein | CVC
46:08
@David Reed, that is a question for the Chancellor's Office.
Dr. Janith Norman
46:32
Thanks Andrea
Gregory Beyrer
46:41
Thank you for include the local Academic Senates. Not each of them is as well connected as we could be with the statewide senate.
Cynthia Wilshusen
49:28
Do you e have resources that counseling can use to help facilitate students registration on the CVC exchange. We have had increased usage but students hitting road blocks with completion of the registration.
Whitney Clay
49:57
I understand the conditions. I don’t understand the financial benefit to the college.
Jennifer Azzaro
50:20
Thank you for clarifying
Dr. Janith Norman
50:30
I'm still wondering about the funding. Can you explain in a sentence or two what the ECAR means.
Mike Vogt
51:00
@Dave yes, the visiting status is mainly an emphasis on the temporary activity of the student. Unlike traditional students, they are coming for a specific class, so they are not degree seeking students. But the access they get provides them access to all instructional services they may need to successfully complete that class, much like any other student, e.g. library, email, Google Apps, MS 365, etc.
Erin Larson
51:08
For questions about other memo requirements or request extensions for deadlines outline in the memo, contact Fiscal Standards and Accountability Unit fiscalstandards@cccco.edu
Nicholas Matthews (Cerritos College)
51:12
Can anyone share a model for an academic senate resolution?
Richard Mahon
51:24
At my college, it's ~ 10% of our base budget.
Dave Dillon (he him his)
51:32
@Mike: Thanks!
Andrea Hanstein | CVC
51:33
@Nicholas, let me paste a sample.
Tracy Schaelen
52:00
@Whitney, if an example helps: it means millions in increased apportionment funding for my college.
Davena BurnsPeters
52:11
The budget is Emergency Conditions funding. Related to choosing between EAC, versus hold harmless, or student allocation formula.
Whitney Clay
52:20
@Tracy - thank you!
Carrie Monlux
52:50
Great question Dr. Norman, it is emergency funding, and not all emergency funding depends on having CVC Teaching College approval.
Andrea Hanstein | CVC
53:51
Sample senate resolution: https://cvc.edu/wp-content/uploads/2020/01/SampleResolution.docx
Davis, Torria
54:02
Can you give examples of the expectation for "incentivize?"
Nicholas Matthews (Cerritos College)
54:03
@Andrea thanks!
Maria Elena Fernandez
54:26
who do we contact to discuss dedicated cohorts, etc--email address?
Bob Nash
54:45
Maria, please contact me at bnash@cvc.edu
Maria Elena Fernandez
54:54
thanks!
Kandace Knudson
54:56
and for how long is this support for PD/POCR expected? We have support for another year, but after that….?
Andrea Hanstein | CVC
55:09
@Cynthia, there are some good resources for counselors here: https://cvc.edu/exchange/studentservices/. There is a PPT specifically for counselors.
Bob Nash
55:12
Just starting a Local POCR process would qualify
Joanna Miller
55:14
Also credit for salary advancement.
Andrea Hanstein | CVC
55:24
We can also come present to your department.
Andrea Hanstein | CVC
55:40
@Maria, were you referring to a POCR cohort or Teaching College?
Maria Elena Fernandez
56:24
@Andrea--pd cohorts through @One
Andrea Hanstein | CVC
56:34
Okay, just wanted to make sure.
Moses Wolfenstein
58:24
Wow
Maria Elena Fernandez
59:35
A full accessibility review is not possible for our campus? where can we send courses for full accessibility review?
Thomas Robb
01:01:01
Is the accessibility module in place now for fall POCR cohorts? It wasn’t when I did this in 2019
Bob Nash
01:01:28
The accessibility module will be in place by mid-October.
Janet Mitchell-Lambert
01:01:42
Thank you!!!!!!!!
Andrea Hanstein | CVC
01:01:53
@Maria, let's have Bob answer that.
Davena BurnsPeters
01:01:56
Was there a mention about how those who have already trained a team (through POCR at @One) but not locally approved should proceed?
Dave Dillon (he him his)
01:02:00
I have a few questions I can ask verbally re: a previous slide.
Gregory Beyrer
01:02:04
Does each college then decide how frequently its courses need to be re-tagged?
Lené Whitley-Putz
01:02:12
I have a question
Andrea Hanstein | CVC
01:02:31
I will get these all answered. Davena, Dave, Greg, then Lene.
Kandace Knudson
01:03:09
would you share the curriculum for section D?
CCC DECO
01:03:14
Thank you all for reframing this process. This is very exciting for colleges new to this process.
Kandace Knudson
01:03:23
(e.g. via Canvas Commons?)
Jessica Drawbond (She/Her/Hers)
01:03:38
With the local teams reviewing accessibility, it will be more important than ever to get funding for POCR programs so reviewers can get paid for all of this work!
Monica Ambalal
01:04:15
We need sustainable funding models for the POCR teams. That is an issue in our district.
Dr. Aizon
01:04:20
Can we get the PowerPoint Presentation on this? Thanks
Lisa Beach
01:04:22
Good idea @Kandace
Maria Elena Fernandez
01:04:31
@Davena, we are also in this position
Ying Liu
01:04:38
Sustainable funding models is so important!
Cynthia Hamlett
01:04:50
Ditto on the funding model comment. It's a big conversation on our campus.
CCC DECO
01:04:58
@Dr. Aizon -- it will be posted after the meeting on the CCC DECO Website - http://cccdeco.org.
Monica Ambalal
01:05:04
I feel like they throw Guided Pathways, HERF, CARE right now - but the future needs a budget for DE.
Darnell Kemp
01:05:19
Agree Monica!!
Jessica Drawbond (She/Her/Hers)
01:05:20
Maybe a topic for a future DECO meeting can be how colleges are funding their POCR programs.
Janet Williams
01:05:33
Can you please clarify: Do all members need to do the Accessibility training or just the members reviewing section D?
Dr. Aizon
01:06:09
also the statement "that do not have yet"
Darnell Kemp
01:06:15
Required for a Teaching College?
Andrea Hanstein | CVC
01:06:35
@Darnell, for any college joining the Consortium.
Dr. Aizon
01:06:42
also confusing - are we are we not? or is it at a later point, we would have to do POCR?
Darnell Kemp
01:07:14
@Andrea - we have a local process, but I need to get our reviewerd into the POCR training course
Andrea Hanstein | CVC
01:07:16
@Dr. Aizon, DECO will share this PPT out.
Andrea Hanstein | CVC
01:07:32
@Darnell, yep, you will work with @ONE to get your process certified.
Darnell Kemp
01:07:45
☺️
Maria Elena Fernandez
01:08:09
Can we identify specific POCR team members as accessibility reviewers, rather than the whole team? We are a very small campus and have a limited faculty pool.
Kandace Knudson
01:08:14
this would be great to learn more about, Lené!
Thomas Robb
01:08:17
The new Pope Tech Tool would be a good start
Kandace Knudson
01:08:23
I'd love to know more
Jennifer Azzaro
01:09:45
Does the CVC have a recommendation on when to re-review QR classes? Every 2 years?
Betsy Allen
01:10:18
Great!
Davena BurnsPeters
01:10:57
As always, I know you all are available for questions. I know I will have some. 😁
Monica Ambalal
01:11:05
When is the accessibility training offered?
Carrie Monlux
01:11:46
https://www.law.cornell.edu/regulations/california/5-CCR-58146
Nada Nekrep
01:12:10
Do all currently scheduled POCR workshops already have this extra module?
Carrie Monlux
01:12:11
Title 5 language on Emergency Conditions allowances
Erin Heasley
01:12:28
What do you mean by "right now" Will it be enforceable later??
Cynthia Wilshusen
01:12:53
If we have faculty that took the POCR training previously, can we send them to section D training?
Thomas Robb
01:12:58
Does the accessibility person need to have been formally trained or can they just already be a guru?
Monica Ambalal
01:13:08
Where can we get the section D training please?
Dave Dillon (he him his)
01:13:11
We have an opposite challenge. We may not be able to acquire funding for POCR if it is not a requirement.
Dave Dillon (he him his)
01:13:55
Agree with Tracy.
Dawn Heuft
01:13:58
+1 Tracy
Tejal Desai-Naik (she/her)
01:13:59
Agree
Carol Hobson (Hartnell College)
01:14:14
Yes, let's talk at the Consortium meeting. This is concerning to me.
Thomas Robb
01:14:30
How does one become part of consortium meetings?
Tejal Desai-Naik (she/her)
01:14:36
it is hard enough to get POCR funding when it is required, if it is optional, we wont get any...
Erin Larson
01:14:40
@Tracy - Online quality and innovation in teaching and learning is still a priority for Equitable Student Learning, Experience and Impact office
Bob Nash
01:14:42
To all, please send me the names of your Local POCR team members who have have previously completed POCR training who would be willing and able to complete our new accessibility module. We can get them trained when it's ready. Send to bnash@cvc.edu and/or contact your local ID.
Monica Ambalal
01:15:29
Yes! Love that we can get the module would love that. Thank you Bob,
Dave Dillon (he him his)
01:15:41
@Bob: Would you like names of faculty who have gone through POCR training even if we are not established locally yet?
Andrea Hanstein | CVC
01:15:51
If we didn't get your question answered, please send it to support@cvc.edu.
Gregory Beyrer
01:16:11
Thank you Marina!
Davena BurnsPeters
01:16:14
EAC is a campus choice. But, I have always understood that membership to consortium requires a percentage of POCR reviewed courses. That’s part of agreement, not budget. I may be wrong?
Bob Nash
01:16:22
@Dave: Yes, if they want to take the new accessibility module
Dr. Janith Norman
01:16:22
Thank you!
CCC DECO
01:16:31
Thank you so much for your time, Marina, Andrea, Bob and Mike!
Monica Ambalal
01:17:04
One of the more riveting DECO meetings. Thank you.

01:17:10
Thank you!
Betsy Allen
01:17:15
Where do we get the Section D training module?
Jennifer Azzaro
01:17:29
A summary would be great, thank you!
CCC DECO
01:17:32
@Betsy -- Bob Nash mentioned that it will be ready in October.
Nicholas Matthews (Cerritos College)
01:18:11
Hi all! I am a DE coordinator at Cerritos College. I am working on a research project to measure student perceptions of accessibility in DE courses. I would love to have more CCCs participate -- please see this link for more information https://docs.google.com/document/d/1RQJvnEw-yVvoo5QgRc5wWI7p2m3lmwDBwe-0dABx6Tg/edit
