Tried unmuting by using the space bar…held it instead of released it …
Such a fun idea - love it:).
This is great - thank you
Does the space bar always unmute. Even if you mute the class at first?
Yes - as long as you have clicked on the Zoom window first
Not on a mac
If your cursor is still in chat, it won’t work
Will this be emailed to us or how can we access this slide material?
Larry try holding it. I thought it didn’t work on my Mac too, but if you hold the space bar it should work.
This will be recorded and shared. We’ll also try to share the slides.
I love the RSVP Idea
Yes please. Share the slide to have as a resource later. Ty
is it in settings to request rsvp
You can also play pre-meeting music that everyone will hear when they access the meeting early. This allows them to check their audio. You can share screen and check the box to share computer audio, then use a music app to play music that will go out.
I like the idea of the music to set the mood.
I love this….
Jim, does the pre-meeting only work if the host is in the meeting or can people hear it before you arrive?
Yeah! I'm going to share Norwegian Death Metal!
I love that tool. Thank you Jim!
Great idea Jim
James, as host I need to be there and set that up
thanks for the music/check sound tip
10-4 thank you.
Can the person with the loud children mute?
I am going to have those who don't attend the zoom sessions access the recordings and write a brief summary of what they learned/how they will use it.
It sounds like you encourage students to come prepared to participate in the Zoom session. Does this happen through other online instruction/assignments? It also seems like you are using this Zoom session to allow space to work together. I will have students who are unable to participate in Zoom due to new jobs. The recording may not be as valuable as participation.
When students are in groups can they still see the screen we are sharing?
Cindy, you can share a screen with the breakout group(s)
i don’t have audio...
I joined and then I came back
how do i go back to my group
join breakout room
That was fun!!!!
Screen said launching and could only see one person on the side? Way to see everyone?
That was your breakout room, Kelly - there was only one other person apparently in your room
whats right click on a mac
So quick question: as you're describing the Breakouot Room function, the Host controls the set-up, timing etc. & the students have just a few control options?
Kris, usually two fingers on the pad
You can also use control-click for a right-click.
Control-click is the universal Mac equivalent for right clck
Jose - that is correct!
Jim, student with Mac cannot open my video from studio formatted WEBM. What application does he need to download?
Those of you still here, please go ahead and join the breakout room you were assigned to
If the invitation is no longer available, look for a button or option that says “Join Breakout Room”
My other colleagues didn’t show up in the room, co I answered the questions and left. I have to logout soon as I have to teach at 4:00 and I need to do some setup. Thank you for everything.
Ok Laurie, no problem
Thanks for being here
I’m going to pop in to one of the rooms for a moment
Those breakout sessions were an amazing experience!
very cool breakout rooms!
But not about toilet paper
great idea! can they see the chat if they are viewing recording afterwards… for example to access link or whatever it is you shared on chat?
Yes! They can view the chat history.
The Zoom recording has a kind of toggle setting on the right to show either chat or the transcript of the session.
Chat also can be shared as a separate file if you think that is important to provide to your students
Thank you so much, Curry. This was SO helpful
Best meeting of the week for me.
Thank you so much very informative! Will these videos be available for us later on? Where?
Hello Curry & Jim, thanks again for a lively & concrete discussion, where can we get the bullet points for this workshop, to review & master the medium?
Your class is awesome! I learned a new word: polylogue. Seriously, though, this was very helpful and the hour went by quickly (something I’m sure your students appreciate).
Thanks so much for sharing your work Curry - this helps newbies like me a whole lot.
is this ppt window view available on G slides?
It is officially happy hour, Jose
Thanks for this amazing session! Very helpful.
upload it as a Google slides
I've used Little Miss Sunshine too :) And...looking forward to playing around with Zoom
When you leave breakouts can you go back in same groups right away?
Thanks for a great session!
@Kelly yes, i did it
From the host side where do you go to visit breakouts? Can you create breakouts sessions early?
Has anyone used “sidecar” to connect a iPad to your Mac for a second screen and possibly to write on while presenting?
