Who has the better pool for how many will show up at the peak?
When is the peak?
Depends on whose info you listen to, Governor says mid may
at 139 now
Shouldn't that be "where is the peak"?
I’ll say 160 but always the optimist…
Way to go Santa Cruz! Keep up the good work sheltering in place
156, getting close
Can everyone please mute their mics, please :)
HUGE thanks due to Owen!
Please be sure all of you are muted until Q & A to reduce background noise. Thank YOU!
Thank you everyone, but I’ve only had a small part, The EOC has been doing a fantastic job! All the section chief’s, the command team officers and technical speciaiests are doing a great job.
I imagine student workers - unlike regular Cabrillo employees - are not officially designated as disaster workers. Can someone confirm this?
Yes Adam, Correct.
The communication. clarity, and professionalism has been exemplary. Thank you leadership team.
We're over 160
Speakers should be introduced with titles.
I'm sorry, what is the number 160 regarding?
totally startled me! Got that same alert
Bradley Olin is VP for Administrative services.
Michael Robins is the Director, Purchasing, Contracts & Risk Management
Delana Miller, Director of Business Services
who is the Disability Advocate
Beth, I believe
I am the District's ADA Coordinator; if anything related to accessibility needs to be addressed as part of the EOC response.
Many students do not have internet access. Have we considered turning on wireless in selected Cabrillo parking lots so students could connect to wireless for class activities? If we discussed this before and I missed it, I apologize.
I think this is available already Edward
Yes, that was a suggestion from students in our survey and IT added some attenae
Students can access wireless internet from the parking lots. Also, there is access to hotspots through a variety of organizations.
in Watsonville as well
both Aptos and Watsonville
also ordered some hotspots that are on the way for distribution
Great! And thank you. I will let students know.
Jon what will you be using to sanitize? Just curious
Edward: Charter Communications Spectrum WiFi is accessible to students free for 60 days, I think there are others. Students can also check with their phone providers.
Gale- please email me and we can review the sanitizing protocols.
Eileen you rock!!!!
Hooray Eileen! What a gift YOU are to our students!!
Thanks Karen. I saw that earlier but some students are reluctant to install.
Thank you to the Board, Administration and EOC for the quick transition. it has been amazing how supported I (we) feel!
THanks Jon, will do. Gayle
Thank you! Lucky to have a supportive community and great team to help get the money out to our students!
Matt, can you say something about what the Makerspace is doing?
Hi Gayle, I’ll chime in and Matt can elaborate, but Payson McNett has been deemed an essential worker and is making 3-D printed face shields and Masks for local medical providers.
That has been what much of our media coverage has been about, in addition to the transition to online learning and distribution of Chromebooks and laptops to students who need them.
Matt - can you mention any faculty involvement with the EOC (in know they aren’t required)
Thank you IT!
hurray David and Mikki!
Thank you Matt and everyone for all of this proactive work!
Is there a chance that the Allied Health building will need to be utilized for patients in Santa Cruz County?
Payson McNett - Awesome - Also Art Department Faculty
You’re welcome - huge thanks to Payson!!
The community has donated $3,500 to support Payson's work!
Thank you, Katie, for all your hard work!
Mary Govaars and Dave Castro were also deemed essential workers in the makerspace and have been assisting Payson McNett with the production of PPE.
would love to see the face shield
Info on Payson's work
Totally awesome contribution to our community
Cabrillo staff and faculty are simply amazing, so proud to be a small part of this institution!
Question for Spring: How is it possible to live on so little sleep and go 7 days a week and make all this happen and have such incredible support from your team, who have seamlessly provisioned needs for faculty, students, and Cabrillo staff?????
Ditto, Ronnette. Faculty, staff, and administrators have been amazing! Thank you for supporting our students.
Thank you everyone for all your amazing work! Great leadership team!
What is the outreach effort to Delta HS., OASIS and Local High School students who are enrolled in courses at Cabrillo.
Cheers to IT!
I wish there was a "like" or "agree" button in this chat window that I could click for all these wonderful comments and tidbits of info and appreciation. You all are doing a simply fantastic job and I'm incredibly proud of Cabrillo and our response in all regards.
Yes! Thank you Spring and all the IT team!
click reactions, Adam.
Is it possible they’ll put off the new funding formula?
We are advocating for at least the extension of hold harmless!
Any way students could get refunds?
Students who do a complete Emergency Withdrawal will, from my understanding get a credit on their account for now, and if they don't register for summer/fall will then get a refund. However, we are working with students to assist them to completion when possible.
Now that all CCC are online, will there be any changes to Calbright? would all CCC be prioritized and funded for DE and perhaps retraction of or changes to CalBright?
Big thanks to the entire EOC and to IT. That we are able to continue so much of our work is due substantially to the solid infrastructure they have built before this and their ability to support our transitions to working from home.
If a student is considering dropping a course, they should contact a counselor (firstname.lastname@example.org) to discuss their options and the implications of dropping their course.
Matt, can you share a brief update on some of the advocacy/support the Student Senate has done for student workers and other students negatively impacted by C-19, so everyone is aware? If you already gave this overview and I missed it, my apologies. I'm also working while listening...
Especially if student is transferring Fall 2020.
The Pass/No Pass deadline has been extended to April 30th as well as to request a EW and receive a refund. I eco Laurens recomendation about referring students to talk to a counselor before dropping so we can trouble shoot and be proactive.
Please remember that if a student expresses food insecurity, please complete a Report It, we have funding to get food cards to students in need
And you can also Just Report It for Housing Insecurity too!
Could there be a written summary of any aid available to students that could be shared w/them?
Please check to Covid-19 page on the Cabrillo website for additional resources
The CSU System through their Chancellor's Office has announced that ANY course taken for a "P" grade in Spring and Summer, 2020 is acceptable: for Admissions Requirements, major preparation, general education and elective credit toward the 60 units required for admission.
Let’s see the face cover that the MakerSpace made
Are there idea for a virtual graduation?
Humboldt State will accept late transcripts, not sure if that is the entire CSU system. Does Counseling know?
We are working on a virtual graduation ceremony
UC System will accept P/NP for admission requirements.
That is wonderful! Is that also true for the latino/x graduation?
Thank you Matt for modeling!
Be careful with UC! it's a campus by campus decision about major prep courses taken as a "P" Advise a student to talk with a Counselor, please!

Nice work, Makerspace team, and you have a future in modeling, Matt!!
CSU System is being flexible on Final Transcripts. Cabrillo will need to let UC System know if more time is needed to submit Final Transcripts.
Latino/x planning meeting is in process, it will happen sometime next week.
The committee will meet next week to brainstorm ideas for Latino Grad Recogniton
Peak was 171, is what I said.
Thanks everyone! HUGE thanks to our Faculty who have pivoted to online so incredibly quickly - it is amazing…
Caryn & Sean Crawford
Thank you President Matt, the EOC team, All Faculty and staff
will all these changes be written in a document?
stay well, everyone!
If anyone is interested in joining the committee please contact Adela Naranjo
Thank you everyone!
