Rena Petrello's Personal Meeting Room - Shared screen with speaker view
clap, clap, clap!!!
@Sydney I don't see your video anymore
Yeah, I turned off the ugly-cam.
How about your mic?
Muted, but I'm seeing and hearing Rena fine.
Samantha is Szaldivar, but I am eating at moment
Actually, if the laptop screen in touch pad you can just get stylus and write in the screen. I tried that yesterday.
View Options --> Annotate
Try minimizing the screen. Below you will see options for audio and video.
I am able to use my finger to write too.
Everyone is drawing on Rena’s page. Can the teacher stop this so student do not fill the screen with confusion?
unable to type text?
Hi Eddie, when the Annotate feature is enabled, there is an option that says "Text".
Morning everyone! Nenagh checking in here just to say hello and HURRAY that you are all there! I wanted to promote the FACULTY ONLINE HELP NETWORK that we now have set up. After Rena's amazing session do feel free to reach out to one of these 30+ faculty who have volunteered to work with their peers on an individual basis as you make this all work for your specific classes. Rena has the list - or do email me and I can forward the list to you.
Hi, Nenagh! Thank you for the info =)
so we need to think not only about our desktup reveals but our room background as well!
Good point Trey! Situational awareness takes on a whole new meaning when working with conferencing tools.
That happened to me yesterday because I recorded on my computer instead of the cloud
How does the teacher control student questions (i.e., how does the student raise his/her hand digitally)?
look on your computer to see if it was recorded on the computer
Hi Trey, I'm looking around for that option on my end but am not finding it. I'll bring your question to Rena in just a moment.
Trey, my students mostly used chat to ask and answer the questions they have or that I give
Regarding video/audio lag time: buy a very fast computer! Since most of us can’t do this ASAP, perhaps relying on separate streaming of media inside canvas (or other) and use zoom for discussion?
Allergic do dairy but cacao is a winner!
How do you set up zoom on the computer or laptop?
Is the raise hand the question?
Click Participants and then you will have options like "Raise Hand", Yes", "No", "Need a Break" etc...
Yes I saw those options when you click on participants and I assume once we are the manager we can click manage participants
Hi all, Yes, as the instructor, you will have an option that says "Manage Participants". When your Participants "Raise their Hand" in zoom, you will see a hand icon show up next to their name in your Manage Participants window.
You can use that to option to help moderate and organize your discussions so that none of your students are talking over each other.
To create your VCCCD ConferZoom account go to http://www.conferzoom.org
If you have not been to this site before, go to "Sign Up"
do we enter our work phone number?
Is it the same url every zoom you do?
I have the Zoom app on my phone. Can I access my ConferZoom account there as well once I get one?
The work phone number would be the best option to include in the Phone number field when signing up for your ConferZoom account.
roberta, yes I believe so
Is there a personal confer zoom cloud storage limit?
Roberta, confimed you can access conferzoom via mobile
It may be helpful to start and end each meeting with a 10 minute buffer. It will give time for students to log in and to answer questions after.
Hi Erik, that is a really great idea!
I know you can recorded your lecture locally (on your computer). What are the file sizes like?
files sizes show up in your account. I used 70Mb in 15 min.
My few lectures thus far were 1GB to 3GB. The cloud is great!
I teach music fundamentals - a music notation reading course: Can I overlay a white page with notation staves (a set of 5 horizontal parallel lines)?
Michael, this might be random but would you know how to edit my display name? I saw Rena thought my name was Laurence because of the way my middle initial is in there.
lauren, you might try seeing the profile tab in the My Account.
