PSA - Under Tax Code - Emergency Student Grants are taxable and will be seen as taxable income. ACE and other groups have sent letter to Congress for Admin or Legislative fix. US Department of Education is speaking with US Treasury to see about a fix.

Good question Loren
Jonathan Lightman
02:38:57
Laundry list not prioritized. We'd have to start with maintaining the integrity of Prop 98 because if that's artificially manipulated, our share would be impacted.
Manny Cappello
02:39:36
Is there a DACA support statement from the League or Chancellor’s office?
Marisa Yeager
02:39:42
Anyone else aware of this? PSA - Under Tax Code - Emergency Student Grants are taxable and will be seen as taxable income. ACE and other groups have sent letter to Congress for Admin or Legislative fix. US Department of Education is speaking with US Treasury to see about a fix.

Cannot answer the question on the timing of the CalPERS increase. As per Perkins, the allocation model that was referenced was not the internal distribution of Perkins money to the colleges, but how the state divides the Perkins funding between K-12 and CCCs.

02:47:36
Access code for US Dept. Education didn't work. was that Eastern or Pacific time?
