Hi, my name is Kelly and I'm from West Hills College Coalinga. I'm a strong supporter of OER for our campus and am helping a lot with our ZTC grant

I am Shoko Aramaki. I teach Japanese at Ohlone community college in Fremont, CA
Suzanne Wakim
41:09
How much are you paying for H5P?
Suzanne Wakim
43:00
Thank you :)
Karla Gutierrez
43:51
$550 per user. Doe user mean instructor or student?
Michelle Pilati
44:08
Instructor.
Michelle Pilati
44:40
But somehow there seems to be a cap on how many students are accessing what has been developed - that needs clarifying.
Diana Garcia-Denson
44:45
Did instructors write the homework exercises?
Diana Garcia-Denson
52:14
Is Acceso ADA compliant and is it Flash based
Bethany Thompson
56:59
All of the reports are only available if hp5 is integrated into Canvas, correct?
Karla Gutierrez
57:28
How is that different from what Canvas can do?
Karla Gutierrez
59:02
with "that" I mean the activities in H5P
Tania DeClerck
01:00:31
Can you please go back to the slide that has the website address for the Antología de literatura?
Diana Garcia-Denson
01:01:05
Did your instructors write the exercises used in H5P?
Diana Garcia-Denson
01:02:23
It seems like a lot of work because the exercises must cover the content presented in Acceso.

COERLL is the U.Tx. site for their OERs for language learning. FI is something that has been around for a while; Texas started working on these types of materials in around 2000, and went live with COERLL a few years ago. They have a ton of great resources for so many languages: http://www.coerll.utexas.edu/coerll/materials/language-learning-materials
Diana Garcia-Denson
01:06:37
We would definitely need the homework site!
Sarah Harmon
01:06:56
For Cañada, I think that there are multiple factors. I have some of our For.Lang. faculty they need the HW site; for others (inc myself), the HW site is extra and not necessary.
Karla Gutierrez
01:07:14
For me, the cultural portion is more chanllenging then the homework. Videos from different countries are hard to produce. HW takes time, but I can create it.
Karla Gutierrez
01:07:54
I am using Accesos right now and some videos are not closed captioned.
Bethany Thompson
01:07:54
I have used many other online tools to create “HW” for students, however, the hP5 activities integrated into the Canvas LMS, saves time and uses the university established system
Karla Gutierrez
01:08:14
This is my first semester
Karla Gutierrez
01:08:31
Yes
Karla Gutierrez
01:08:44
This is the only book we use
Diana Garcia-Denson
01:10:12
Karla, what’s the feedback so far, from students?
Bethany Thompson
01:10:47
Does hp5 allow you to share activities with another teacher?
Karla Gutierrez
01:11:40
Students like it. The topics are interesting and they say are better than regular textbooks. It has history, culture, current issues...
Diana Garcia-Denson
01:12:13
What about continuity, because you use one text for first yr in Spanish and Acceso for 2nd yr?
Karla Gutierrez
01:12:23
Some videos are not closed captioned and are hard to follow for those whose Spanish level is more limited
Karla Gutierrez
01:13:17
I have typed some of the transcripts for the video and give them to students.
Diana Garcia-Denson
01:13:53
I mean in terms of content, how does Plazas correlate with Acceso?
Karla Gutierrez
01:14:07
I have not used Plazas
Karla Gutierrez
01:14:42
Accesso is not for beginners. It is for intermediate students
Diana Garcia-Denson
01:15:24
My question is if students who do Plazas in 1st year, do they do well with Acceso in 2nd yr?
Karla Gutierrez
01:17:00
Grammar works for all levels, but not the rest of the content. Grammar is explained in English, so even first year students could followed it.
Karla Gutierrez
01:18:32
What does H5P do that you cannot do in Canvas?
Diana Garcia-Denson
01:18:51
¡Muchas gracias!
