Dave Song
39:45
Thanks for the heads up!
Sheila Lynch
40:50
Are there plans to share the results of the OER use/campus on the ASCCC website?
Ruth Moon
42:12
You need a library lead
Daron Kachatourian
42:40
And a Business lead
Ruth Moon
42:44
Leads are statewide?
Jennifer Pakula
42:49
Is anyone else having an issue with the sound? I can barely hear Michelle.
Dave Dillon
42:55
@Pat: Yes, the webinar is being recorded and will be made available along with the slides.
Sheila Lynch
43:13
Yes, a library lead is important!!
Dave Dillon
43:53
@Jennifer: Sound is working for me. Assuming you have checked your volume. ;)
Shagun Kaur
44:06
Thank you for the suggestion Sheila and Daron. Please feel free to send Michelle an email with any recommendations you may have
Ruth Moon

Put out an rfp for ebook platform and/or video platform and hosting sollutions
Daron Kachatourian
44:54
Thanks Shagun
Dave Dillon
45:36
Thanks Ruth. I’ll compile the “if you had $1 million” suggestions.
Esteban Aguilar
45:57
Offering faculty a stipend or some kind of finacial incentive to rework courses in order adopt OER/low-cost materials. Also would look at using funds to work with various OER vendors/platforms
Bianca Rowden-Quince
46:01
What is the plan for sharing resources? Where will they be housed?
Carrie Consalvi
46:22
I would consider bringing in an instruction designer. Some of the resistance to OER from our faculty has to do with the instruction programs available through publishers like Cengage, who create tutorials and activities that coordinate with the textbook. An instruction designer could develop these programs for OER textbooks which would increase the ease for faculty to adopt.

here is a guide that was developed by librarians at Foothill College: https://libguides.fhda.edu/OER

@ Ruth - The Leads are regional based on the areas designated by the Academic Senate
Thea Alvarado
46:45
I second Esteban.
Ruth Moon

Libraries and Librarians are professionals in organizing, storing, and making accessible all kinds of resources. I hope there is (or are, or will be) librarians on advisory cmte. srsly, we know a lot about this.
Suzanne Wakim
48:49
Ruth - we will certainly include librarians in the team. They are invaluable :)
Dave Dillon
49:08
@Ruth Yes, definitely.
Ruth Moon
49:40
Are any other states doing anything similar?
Sheila Lynch
49:55
What plans are there for vetting the materials that will be put up on Canvas for quality and accuacy?
Dave Dillon
52:08
@Ruth: There are many states that are passing or have passed legislation for funding for a variety of OER efforts.
Ruth Moon
54:12
I am appreicative of the work being done. Pretty awesome.
Dave Song
54:48
Do you have suggestions for writing grants?
Wendy Chisholm
55:15
I would love to be in contact with other 'technology' instructors and OER developers. SUGGESTION?: In the up coming canvas site coming out, perhaps an area for others to collaborate?
Michael Bobo - Norco College
55:27
Can anyone access the Canvas discussion regardless of discipline? I am an OER Liaison but my discipline is Humanities
Sheila Lynch
55:32
On our campus, a faculty member asked if we can have more than one Liaison to ASCCC OERI?
Bianca Rowden-Quince
55:34
How is the task force partnering with Campus leadership to support local OER efforts?
Jennifer Pakula
55:36
Nicole Major and I (Saddleback College) did not receive the survey you mentioned about the number of sections flagged in the class schedule. When did that go out?
Dave Dillon
56:47
@Ruth: Thank you! We appreciate your suggestions and attendance.
Wendy Chisholm
56:51
I agree with you about the discussions! Thank you.
Camerin Poulson
57:24
I have found that faculty have tried and rejected various OER textbooks like some Openstax because they find errors or because they don’t work well for the way the faculty teach the course. It might be helpful to have a platform that allows faculty to choose chapters or concepts rather than asking them to sign on to a single textbook that might not work for everyone.
Dave Dillon
57:26
@Wendy: Yes, great suggestion. That is a continuous work in progress.
Ruth Moon
57:31
Talk to your local union reps about release time
Bianca Rowden-Quince
58:15
One thing to consider adding to the Canvas shell would be tutorials of remixing content and perhaps authoring platforms to encourage faculty to customize resources
Sheila Lynch
58:24
Support from administation is essential. I hope those efforts become a priority.
Pat McClanahan
58:50
Some of the OER "copyrights" use that sort of policy -where adopters are free to edit, use, and cut and paste...
Tahmina Morshed
58:52
I agree with Bianca
Suzanne Wakim
59:08
OEI has built Canvas shells for all the OpenStax books. This makes it easy to modify & edit

Wendy Chisholm
01:01:53
Fantastic!
Pat McClanahan
01:01:56
Maybe create a list ofliasons by discipline to perhaps work together
Sheila Lynch
01:01:59
How will you determine the next discipline's list to focus upon? Humannities disciplines need help.
Michael Bobo - Norco College
01:02:25
I second the need for Humanities support. Thank you Sheila.
Bianca Rowden-Quince
01:02:59
Art? or Art History?
Dave Song
