For people who come in late, they only see the things that appeared in the chat after they joined.

Is there a link to this Google doc? I dn't see it here in chat.

Is there any chance anyone has a list of popular published books and their OER equivalent?
Andrew Park
01:21:31
I remember from my Chemistry faculty this example on LibreTexts: https://chem.libretexts.org/Bookshelves/General_Chemistry/Map%3A_Chemistry_-_The_Central_Science_(Brown_et_al.)
Andrew Park
01:21:39
Maybe something similar in Math area?
Clay Gediman
01:24:56
Does myopenmath show where student where they make a mistake in the practice?
Julie Kehoe
01:25:35
Is there a way to get email notification when a student sends a question through the "Message instructor about this question" link?
John Fuhrmann
01:26:17
what if a student has technical problems - is there someone they can contact, or do they just contact the instructor?
Amy Ward
01:27:47
If there are worked out examples, does that mean the question editor programmed in a step-by-step solution themselves?
Andrew Park
01:28:20
Clay: If you are writing in your own question, there are functions that can customize feedback using student answer (but it does take a lot of work to program those in).
Julie Kehoe
01:30:21
It does not work for me...
Clay Gediman
01:32:24
Great! thank you! (not a math instuctor but hoping to work with our math dept on adopting it) :)
Andrew Park
01:32:51
Julie: in your profile, there are also options to turn notification on. That uses browser notification mechanism which may bypass spam filters.
Julie Kehoe
01:35:42
Andrew: I have the "noftiy me by email when I receive a new message" box check in my profile but I don't get any emails. Junk e-mail folder is empty too. :(
Andrew Park
01:37:19
Yeah ... I had worked with a physics faculty who had similar problem. Let me email him and ask.
Andrew Park
01:43:58
:)
Antoniette Aizon
01:44:55
What is the file extension needed?
Jessica Kuang
01:46:02
File extension is same as the Canvas export file.
Veronica Holbrook
01:48:04
if you do export the instructor things into canvas can they be hidden from the students or unpublished?
Jessica Kuang
01:48:15
Yes.
Veronica Holbrook
01:48:29
👍🏼
Erika Noffsinger
01:49:17
Is Open Math compatiable for the hearing and site impaired?
Veronica Holbrook
01:49:58
does the myopic math gradebook communicate to the Canvas gradebook or is it another module?
Veronica Holbrook
01:50:04
my open lol
Amy Ward
01:50:28
So is there a setting that does NOT push forward the gradebook settings (weights of categories)?
Jessica Kuang
01:51:24
The gradebook goes back to Canvas, however, you could also choose not to push forward...
Amy Ward
01:52:11
How do you choose not to? What setting?
Amy Ward
01:52:26
Nevermind, I see it there. Sorry
Jessica Kuang
01:52:46
There are two levels of integration, and more detail in the MOM training course.
Antonio López
01:56:52
So it's not possible to find MyOpenMath in Canvas Commons?
Jessica Kuang
01:57:31
MOM is not in Canvas Common.
Antoniette Aizon
01:58:11
how long does it take to get approval as faculty to have access to MyOpenMath?
Jessica Kuang
01:58:37
Not long, and shoot me an email directly if you have to wait more than 48 hours.
Jessica Kuang
01:58:43

Andrew Park
02:07:33
Antonio: MyOpenMath itself is not on Canvas Commons, but there are examples of course shells in Commons that use MyOpenMath. For example, this is Larry's statistics course: https://lor.instructure.com/resources/68163ff9add44a789707d939f0eecac6
Andrew Park
02:08:07
i *think* it's using MyOpenMath; currently importing the cartridge into a test shell to see ... (might not finish import before the webinar is over).
Amy Ward
02:11:54
Our plan is to add another 2 units to our in-person class. During that time we would use some worksheets for extra practice. Are there worksheets or materials in that support course that could be printed out for in-person use?
Clay Gediman
02:13:46
This may be a weird question, but how is your success rate/completion rate using OER mymathlab compared to the paid textbooks?
Andrew Park
02:13:53
Jessica and Roy: Question for Larry (sorry, I have to leave soon). I finished importing Larry's statistics course in Canvas Commons, and I get this message when I load the assignment "Invalid consumer - your LTI tool is not configured correctly. Check your LTI key and secret." Is there a way an instruction can be included (or is it already included) in the Canvas cartridge?
Amy Ward
02:14:11
Are you working on support courses for only statistics, or other courses?
Andrew Park
02:15:22
Yes, but no audio.
Roy Shahbazian
02:15:23
Andrew: that message is usually a result of using the incorrect option for "Include App Config" when exporting from MOM. Or a problem with your personal key/secret
Andrew Park
02:15:31
Ah, thank you, Roy.
Clay Gediman
02:17:26
Thats great! I hear concerns about moving away from mymathlab type systems. student cost and faculty customizability seems like it would help
Jonathan Luque
02:18:22
I'm not sure if you answered Erika's question earlier, but is MyOpenMath accessible for the hearing and sight impared?
Roy Shahbazian
02:18:51

Thank you for all your information. Our college are in the process of creating a co-requisite with our Stats. class.

How are you all organizing? Is there a page/discussion board/calendar for people who want to share support course work?
